Our Very First Santa Project
We had over a $1,000 budget to work with. We had donations from "the Nugget Family" and David Stroud of ASB Properties. With all of this positive energy we made three deserving families feel the spirit of Rotary and Christmas. Tony Schwall and Georgia Johas started off by reading many letters from families at the post office. These letters indicated what they wanted for Christmas. A veteran of reading these letters, Tony knew what to look for.
Walking into Georgia's house (which is for sale by the way, so if you know anybody..) there was a wall of gifts that surrounded her whole front room. It was an amazing site. We, Dawn, Tony, Georgia, Mike Tzikas and his son George (correct me if I am wrong Mike), and myself, proceeded to load up the cars and deliver.
The families all had their own stories, but all definitely in need and deserving. For those of you who participated, please tell us your experience.
